2024 Year End Report for Parish Renovations
As the year 2024 comes to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the remarkable progress on the structures and facilities in Malate Church through various renovation and improvement projects. These initiatives were not just about enhancing our physical space, but about enriching our spiritual home for all who gather here.
We are deeply grateful to our generous donors, benefactors, supporters, and dedicated volunteers whose contributions and hard work made these projects possible. Your commitment to our shared mission has helped transform Malate Church into a more welcoming, functional, and beautiful place for worship and community. We are truly thankful for your unwavering support.
1. Adoration Chapel Renovations
The Adoration Chapel, a cherished sanctuary for prayer and reflection, underwent significant enhancements this year to elevate both its aesthetics and functionality. The interiors were thoughtfully redesigned, complemented by the installation of a new lighting system that offers softer, more inviting illumination, enriching the chapel’s serene ambiance. Adding to its transformation, stunning stained-glass windows were installed, infusing the space with natural light and vibrant colors while embodying profound spiritual symbolism.
2. Walkway Leading to the Sacristy and Adoration Chapel
A gracefully designed pathway now links the Remedios Jubilee Mission Center to the sacristy, enhanced by a newly constructed covered walkway. Featuring high-quality polycarbonate roofing, this addition seamlessly blends durability with contemporary elegance.
The structure not only provides shelter from the elements, ensuring parishioners can traverse the space comfortably, even during rain, but also introduces a striking visual element. The blue-toned roof, reminiscent of a serene skyline, reflects the changing light throughout the day, infusing the space with a sense of calm and sophistication. It’s cool, airy hue elevates the overall atmosphere, adding a refined touch of modernity to the church grounds.
3. Guard House Improvements
The newly constructed guard house, strategically located near the Remedios Jubilee Mission Center (RJMC) and the sacristy, offers an ideal vantage point for ensuring the security of both the RJMC and the church grounds, particularly at the entrance along Mabini Street.
In addition to its security function, it has also served as an information desk, providing assistance to parishioners and visitors, further enhancing the welcoming atmosphere of the church.
4. New Garbage House at San Andres Corner Mabini
To improve waste management and the cleanliness of the church grounds, a new garbage shed was built at the corner of San Andres and Mabini, providing a clean and organized area for storing waste before proper disposal. The structure is strategically located to ensure minimal impact on the church's surroundings while offering a practical solution for waste management and disposal accessible via the Mabini gate.
5. New Storage Area Along Mabini (Behind the Sacristy)
A new storage area was constructed to meet the growing needs of the parish. Situated behind the Sacristy, this space is now used to store various items, such as maintenance supplies, equipment and tools, supplies for events, and other parish-related items. The area is well-organized and secure, helping the parish maintain a clutter-free environment.
6. Landscaping and New Benches on the Patio
The church’s patio area, which serves as a gathering place for parishioners, was enhanced to create a more comfortable and welcoming space. Landscaping works were done, new plants and decorative elements were added to beautify the area, providing a tranquil environment for visitors. New benches were installed, providing a space for parishioners and visitors to sit and reflect or socialize in a peaceful setting.
7. RJMC Roof-deck Waterproofing
Roof-deck waterproofing works were recently completed at the RJMC Building, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the structural integrity and longevity of the building. These improvements included the application of durable, high-quality waterproofing materials designed to protect the roof-deck from water infiltration, ensuring resistance to leaks and weather-related damage. The project reflects a commitment to preserving the building’s functionality and safety, while safeguarding it against environmental wear and tear.
The renovations and improvements made throughout the year have enhanced the functionality, safety, and beauty of Malate Church. These changes are aimed at creating a more welcoming environment for both worship and community activities, ensuring that the parish can continue to serve the needs of its parishioners for years to come. As we move forward into the new year, we remain committed to further enhancing our sacred space, fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and spiritually enriching parish.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and resources to make these improvements possible.
